NettetElmes has participated in Holidays for Heroes in the 2024 and 2024 holiday seasons. Director of the local Red Cross, Dan Williams, has helped facilitate Holidays for Heroes for a number of years. Dan says his favorite part about this proactive effort is reminding service members and veterans that they’re cared about. NettetThe Holiday Mail for Heroes program is now Holidays for Heroes. This change allows local Red Cross offices to identify and engage in a variety of activities that thank and recognize members of the military and veterans living in our communities.

After collecting nearly 2,000 handwritten cards last year to bring to our veterans, we want to reach even more this year. Today, on a day dedicated to honoring our veterans, you can help us do that. This year’s program will deliver cards from the local communities to local military facilities, veteran’s homes and hospitals and military family support groups.
